Brix Score & Ranking Methodology
Mathematical formulas, weighting factors, and empirical probe criteria governing Brixapi scores and route leaderboards.
Commercial Firewall Guarantee: Paid advertisements, sponsored deals, and provider claim status have exactly zero weight in the Brix Score and ranking calculations.
1. The Brix Score (0–100)
The Brix Score is a composite operational index evaluating an API provider's overall infrastructure health, identity verification, latency stability, and commercial value.
Brix Score = Reliability (30%) + Trust (25%) + Performance (25%) + Value (20%)
- Reliability (30 points): Derived from 30-day synthetic route uptime, HTTP 5xx error rate, and incident recovery duration.
- Trust (25 points): Based on domain ownership verification, documentation clarity, public status page availability, and transparent invoicing terms.
- Performance (25 points): Evaluates median Time-to-First-Token (TTFT) and token generation throughput (tokens/sec).
- Value (20 points): Normalized pricing delta compared to first-party vendor rates and competitive spot pricing.
2. The 7 Ranking Modes
Overall: Uptime (40%) + Fingerprint Consistency (30%) + Low Latency Bonus (30%).
Cheapest: Score = 100 - (InputPrice × 10). Sorts strictly by lowest normalized input token price.
Fastest: Score = 100 - (TTFT / 12). Prioritizes lowest median Time-to-First-Token in milliseconds.
Most Stable: Score = Uptime Percentage. Evaluates 30-day availability and low error rates.
Best Quality: Score = Semantic consistency confidence score from benchmark probes.
Best for Coding: 98 pts for Anthropic native protocol, 93 pts for OpenAI format, 75 pts for other.
Best Value: (Uptime × 0.3) + (Consistency × 0.3) + (Price Competitiveness × 0.4).
